Frequently Asked Questions

How much will it cost?

For Individuals: £45 for a fifty minute session during daytime hours and £50 for a fifty minute out of office hour session,(5.00-8.00p.m.).
I offer an initial session of one hour at no charge to enable us to meet, get to know each other and decide together whether I can best help you, and for you to have the opportunity to decide whether you feel you would like to work with me. My aim is always for you to feel empowered and in control.

For Couples: £65: for a fifty minute session during daytime hours and £70 for a fifty minute out of office hour session,(5.00-8.00p.m.). The initial appointment is usually for an hour, sometimes longer.

For supervision I charge
£50 for a fifty minute session.

How long will I have to come for?

You don't have to come! It is your choice when you start, how long you continue for, and when you want to finish.
The number of sessions you decide to attend is usually not something that can be specified, some clients find that just one session meets their needs, others come for a few weeks, many come for much longer working with me until they themselves feel they are ready to leave.

When do you work?

Week days and some evenings, made by mutual agreement.

What happens if I can't make an appointment?

I ask for at least two days notice if you are unable to attend. If less is given, I will try and give you an alternative date and time, but if you are unable to do this I usually charge the full fee.

What happens if I am late?

Unfortunately I can only offer the session time and length agreed, so if you are late we do of course meet but I would have to finish the session at the agreed time.

What about confidentiality ?

In line with BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Psychotherapy and Counselling client confidentiality is maintained at all times. If I felt you were at risk or someone else was in danger I would discuss this with you and together we would decide on any appropriate action. No confidence would be broken without your agreement.

What happens when I come to a session?

We sit together in a comfortable, private room and you have the opportunity to talk and for me to listen. I don't tell you what you should or shouldn't do, I make no judgments. It is a private space and time for you to discuss and share what ever it is you want to talk about, and for us to work together with what you bring.
